Sattu Drink Recipe
Sattu is a cooling drink that is had in summer in India. It is highly respected in Ayurveda for its many benefits. Here are two delicious sattu recipes to try. 
Today we have one of India's most famous, centuries old drink called as Sattu or Sattu drink or Sattu Sherbat.

Sattu is fine flour made from roasted chickpeas or black chickpeas and it has been used in India by farmers since centuries. It has been called as the 'poor man's food' because farmers would take sattu in the morning and afternoon when working in the fields to prevent heat strokes and sattu being a cooling drink was just perfect for them! Sattu is a superfood and in the video, I discuss all the benefits of sattu.

Sattu drink or sattu sherbat has many benefits -

-Sattu is excellent for weight management as it keeps you full for long,

-Sattu is great for diabetes or blood sugar management due to its low glycemic index

-Sattu boosts energy as its rich in protein and antioxidants

-Sattu is great for skin and hair health

-Sattu will help boost your metabolism and digestion

-Sattu is great for bones, joints and teeth health due to being rich in magnesium and calcium

-Sattu is rich in fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals like magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, etc.

Here are 2 Sattu recipes - one is sweet and one is savory. Watch this video to learn more about the recipes and give them a try.

Sattu Drink (Savory) -
(Adjust the spices and the sea salt per taste)

1. Almond milk - 1 glass or about 12 oz. 
2. Sattu flour - 2 Tablespoons
3. Turmeric - 1/2 Teaspoon
4. Black pepper - 1/2 Teaspoon
5. Sea salt - 1/3 Teaspoon

6. Ceylon cinnamon - 1/2 Teaspoon

Sattu Drink (Sweet) - 


1. Water - 12 oz. 
2. Sattu flour - 2 Tablespoons
3. Jaggery - 1 Teaspoon


Steps
- 

1. Mix all and enjoy!
