Triphala Ayurvedic Tea

Triphala Tea
Triphala is an Ayurvedic remedy for digestion and cleanses the toxins from the body. Check out this recipe to make triphala tea with spices.
Today we have one of Ayurveda's most famous and centuries old remedy for digestion, detox, for healthy weight management and much more!

Triphala is made with 3 fruits - amla, bibhitaki and haritaki which when combined and taken together can really help cleanse your body (release the toxins - ama), can boost your digestion, release build up fat, speed up metabolism, prevent blood sugar spikes and can help in preventing diseases like cancer, obesity and diabetes.

Triphala is tridoshic meaning it is great for all doshas - vata, kappa and pitta.

Triphala is also taken to reduce cholesterol, help with better absorption of food, boost immunity, increase hemoglobin and red blood cells, improve circulation, promote healthy bowel function, balance all doshas and boost gastrointestinal health.

Note - In this tea recipe, since we are adding few more spices and seeds, I took only 1/4 teaspoon of triphala powder to start with but as you take the tea daily, you can gradually increase the dose to 1/2 to even 1 teaspoon per day according to your body's condition and needs.

Triphala is super safe and generally adults in India take about 1 full teaspoon per day and sometimes even more. You may take the entire dose at once or divide in 2 or 3 times per day.

Triphala is cooling to the body so taking it during the hot summer months is not only appropriate but is vital.
Check out the full video where I explain the benefits of triphala plus the spices and seeds in the recipe and I also tell you how and when to take your triphala tea for maximum benefits.
