Horse gram dal or kulthi dal as called in India, is ideal for winter months and I have wanted to make this dal for quite sometime - it is warming in nature and will produce wonderful heat in your body, thus helping you naturally warm from inside-out. Once fully cooked, this dal is chewy in texture and very hearty and filling - paired with my tadka, you will absolutely love the taste of this dal.
You can pair this wonderful horse gram dal recipe with some rice, quinoa, naan, paratha or have it just as is like a bowl of soup to give you energy and protein. Horse gram dal is considered to be the lentil that is highest in protein content - so enjoy a bowl or two everyday for your protein needs and boost your energy levels as well.
