Easy & quick comfort food; Lentils, rice, onions & garlic give this recipe the 'wow' factor while keeping it light. Inc. video.
Khichdi is one of India's most loved recipe and for some really good reasons; it is light and tasty and is a great tool for digestive health so much so that it is often the first recipe given to babies in India. It is great when one is feeling sick and needs light meals while recovering to avoid any digestive upsets.
Usually khichdi is made with boiling rice and lentils together and at the end, tempering is added to enhance the flavor and health benefits. Now, in my recipe, I go a step further to not just add more flavor but to also add more health boosting benefits of this recipe. My recipe includes good amount of onions, garlic and then spices to add more sulfur in the diet as sulfur is THE nutrient to prevent diseases like cancer and inflammation.
