Ragi malt or finger millet shake is a wonderful, tasty healthy drink that you can take in the morning or anytime of the day! Check out the video as I talk about all of its benefits and why this is one drink that you must make part of your daily health routine. In India, for centuries and centuries, farmers would have ragi malt or ragi porridge for breakfast or lunch to help them with sustained energy and stamina throughout the day especially while working in the fields all day under the scorching weather. Have this savory drink every day in the morning and see the health benefits within a month! Ragi or finger millet is considered as one of the most nutritious foods on this planet - it will help boost you hair growth, give a glow to the skin, balance your blood sugar levels and give you sustained energy throughout the day. It is rich in fiber so it is also great for digestion as well as healthy weight. Ragi or finger millet is also great for women or those who suffer from anemia, fatigue or lack of energy. Ragi is rich in iron and helps boost hemoglobin levels. Ragi is also rich in protein and various minerals which is why in India it is given to those recovering from sickness or extreme weight loss or weakness. Ragi is also antimicrobial making it superb for boosting immunity especially during the allergy seasons. Ingredients - 1. Ragi Flour (Finger Millet Flour) - 1 Tablespoon 2. Almond milk - About 6 oz. or per choice 3. Water - 1/2 cup Spices - 1. Cumin powder - 1/3 teaspoon 2. Sea salt - 1/3 teaspoon 3. Ginger powder - 1/2 teaspoon 4. Ceylon Cinnamon powder - 1/2 or 1/3rd teaspoon Simple Steps - 1. Add water to the pan and when it is hot enough, add the ragi flour. 2. Mix the flour until it is fully cooked and thick, gel-like. 3. Add the spices and the almond milk - mix all and close the stove off. 4. At this point, it is done but if you like, you can wait for few minutes so it cools down and then blend it all once more to make it more smooth. Note - There will always be bit of ragi clumps at the bottom of the glass as they are heavy and thick but you just need to mix with a spoon and enjoy this super delicious, savory drink! I made this milk and loved it. Instead of blending it in the end, I just used a whisk and was able to get a well blended drink.

I wonder if it would be ok to re-warm this drink after adding the almond milk… I’ve been making warm ragi porridge and it seems like both are a really nice way to start a cold winter’s day!
