Cancer: A Beautiful Blessing in Disguise

Finding Blessings in Cancer Diagnosis
Could cancer be the beautiful blessing in disguise? The sacred call of the healer? Find out in this article how cancer is such a sacred blessing to cherish & thank.
Healer? Which healer? Who? What? Cancer and blessing?

Nope - these two words don't go together.  How could one say that it is a blessing? Cancer is fear. Cancer is suffering. Cancer means unimaginable amount of bills stock piled high...and of coarse, good grief, the realization that life is coming to an end. Cancer means preparing to say your good-byes - even to those who we don't like or care much for coz suddenly even they become precious & find some meaning in our hearts.

And what about Fido? Or Kitty? Oh, that dog or cat who has been with you through life's thick and thin. What about them now? Where will they go? Will they be fine without you? Because after all, who can feed them, love them and kiss them the way you do? And how unfair to have to take away their home...

Ah! All these questions - just because of one word: CANCER. Relax. You see now how fast the mind runs even though the reality is moving much slower. And THAT, my dear, is to your advantage. This slow-moving reality, not catching up with your fast thoughts, IS what you call your 'journey'.

And how you do on this journey will determine the outcome but even more so, the lessons your Soul has sent you to learn in this lifetime.

So, cheers! Raise your champagne & let's toast. Hold your head high & smile like the whole Universe is shining down on you. Amen. And let the journey begin!

Oh, the journey...

The journey will be tough to begin with - after all where you are going, you have never been there before. Yes, its a beautiful, scenic place. I guarantee you. But you need to pack well - you will need lot of goodies to keep you going on this journey. You will also need to leave behind what you no-longer need. Oh, don't worry. We will go through all that. So, lets start.

Oh! By the way, heads up! There are no NO U-turns on this journey - only a straight road, high, up and above.
Picture
1. Dry,colorless fall

This is the first road that will appear on this journey. It is shocking. How dare this happen? Where is the Universe? Is it even true? Where are the colors of life? The flowers? I am so shocked, I can't even smell the roses.

It is dull and full of blues. Perhaps, even hearing some blues can be too blue. Goodness!! It will feel too cold - all the time, even if you have warm support. You will look around to see if you can find anything beautiful. Nope - not seeing any beauty. Look again - no, not seeing any beauty, far & wide. Just not seeing it? That's OK.

But just keep walking - you have no other choice.

Dark, gloomy, harsh winter...but can you see the Sun still shining from far away?
2.  Dark, gloomy, harsh winter

It gets even worse...slowly. What is the beauty of cold, harsh winters of our life? Festivals! Family reunions. But you won't be feeling it. It is, by this time, all empty in you. Nothing will delight that heart of yours that feels so betrayed.

OK, what about a bouquet from Heaven - sent personally for you? Will that do? Nope. Even that won't do. You will throw it away anyways. You are so angry and hurt, still. It's OK, dear. It's OK.

People all around you are laughing, some are shopping, some eating ice-creams, music is playing, dance is going on and jokes are being shared, babies are being born around the world, puppies are chewing, kitties are scratching, marshmallows are falling from the sky! cookies are baking, but oh boy! you are not feeling it. It's still OK. Your mind is still wondering if you will make it or not. Is it OK to enjoy life? Is it OK to laugh, yet?

3. The 'Inner' Road

Nothing will solve for you in this journey unless & until you decide to go on to the 'inner' road. And this road will be the one that will show you the pearls beneath the storms. Until you see the importance of this storm in your life, you will NOT heal. And that is because healing is not made of one aspect - it is an embodiment of several aspects that lead to a whole new you being birthed.

This is the road where you will contemplate all the choices you have made in your life so far - the good, the bad & the ugly. This is a harsh road but without this one, nothing can move further in your life. This is the road that is now going be the bridge between your life till this moment and the life that is to come. So, hold on tight, you are in for a roller-coaster ride on this road. It is a dry desert - it will burn your feet when you walk. Each moment, your hope will  be hanging in the air, waiting for a drop of water - the ultimate life source.  But as you find the reservoir of inner strength, rest assured you are creating beautiful footprints - a legacy to reflect back on and tell others about.

In this moment & time, you will figure out, as if by magic, what you no longer need and who must go out of your life. You will wonder why it took you so long to do this - to figure out and to make such changes. The Truth was always there: about toxic substances, people, relationships, habits, foods, etc. that were in your life - but you chose to ignore it each time. Now, you have been cornered by the Universe. You cannot go anywhere, it says. "You want to heal?", the Universe asks. Let's look at each 'toxin' in your life and get rid of this baggage. And now you are in the listening mode, finally! Whew! So, here comes the changes. Lots of them. Everything that is of lower vibration must leave now - out! out! out!

4. The Sunshine: Glimmer of Hope & New Chance

So, you did make it. Congrats! From the turning of the road, you can see the sun rays now. Can't you? How does it feel? What feelings come up now when you think you made it? And stop! Ponder upon these feelings a bit longer, will ya?

THIS is the state of mind you want to try to stay in as much as possible or at least whenever your mind wanders off to the 1st road. No, think how far you have traveled - we have crossed the flowerless fall, the dry winter and the arid desert - leaving everything but footprints of our personal legacy. How majestic! How wonderful! Feel! Feel! Feel! How does it feel? And look at those sacred birds flying in the Heavenly skies! Thank these Heavenly angels, for they have shown you what's it like to leave everything behind that weighs you down and fly! fly! fly!

Can you see the Sun shining now from far away and the sacred birds flying in Heavenly skies? Thank them. They have taught you the biggest lesson in this journey.
5. The Tree & its Rainbow

Be like a tree: strong roots and thick skin so that you can wither any storm in life. The tree doesn't complain - it just is. It stands tall and continues to bless the life around it. It provides shade to keep others cool, it is a source of beauty, it gives us clean air to breathe so we may continue living and fulfill our dreams, it protects new life by keeping the bird's nest safe, it gives fruit and feeds the hunger of this world. How magnificent is this tree! Even when it dies, even when the axe cuts it off, it still blesses the world by being reborn into something useful. How forgiving is this tree.

Perhaps, cancer (or any disease) is such a great blessing that it shows us to be like a tree. It comes to awaken the healer in you. Now you know who is the healer - its YOU! And you are also the 'healed'.

So, like the tree - do not be afraid and if to leave, then be it so but leave with being a blessing to this world. And that if you are to die, then rest assured, by the Law of the Universe, you will be born into something of value and beauty. So, fear not. Either way, your rainbow is arriving. It is here and now. Now go on and make this world a better, sacred place it is meant to be. What else was your journey for?

I have been through this journey and I must tell you that I have this remarkable journey continuing. I go to a Japanese healer who taught me what you just explained, sometimes I regress and feel sorry for myself because I have inflammation. Example: I have wide feet, and have inflammation also, but I continue to be grateful that I still have feet. I have learned to be grateful, love my tree, feel the earth under my feet, but most of all thank God for giving me the opportunity to still go on my beautiful journey. I enjoyed reading your messages. Your messages confirm that we are blessed when our health is attacked for it shows us how to be grateful for every experience and grow stronger and help other people who cross our path. Today, I was given your message, because this is my journey. Thank You

Somya, your words have inspired me. I did walk the desert road and went thru the harsh winter after the big C appeared and turned my life upside-down. However, like you so beautifully stated cancer is a blessing. It was my entry into this inner journey that has made me live a fuller life and show me what really matters. Nothing like the immediacy of now because tomorrow is not guaranteed to make you live in the present. I have slowly strengthened my roots, shed the leaves and branches that do not work and growing new taller branches on my tree. Lovely to have found your blog. Thank you!

Thank You Somyata. My mother passed away 10 years ago from BC .Diagnose at age 55 years old. I tried so hard to get her to change her diet and other healthy things but she didn't. I am on my journey to stay healthy and prevent the terrible pain and suffering she had for many years. It was stressful and exhausting for me also. I really appreciate what you are doing. May you be Blessed always.

OMG! I can feel for you! It must have been so hard on you. Sorry for your loss. And isn't that frustrating WHY people would not change even though they are sick and you are telling them a better, easier, cheaper way out?! It bothers me a LOT - actually, it baffles me!...why somebody would not enjoy something healthy and tasty to live longer, healthier life.

Oh well...past is past - I am GLAD that you are taking charge of your decisions for your health! and that you are making changes day by day. You are at the right place..:) I am glad that I & my darling TGR can be part of your journey..:)

And IF - IF, you ever need more help, I will make sure you are taken care of - via my one-on-one coaching and/or articles and recipes! You have nothing to worry about! Thanks for sharing! I love getting your comments - keep them coming! It is uplifting..:) -Somyata.

Dear Somyata, Thank you fotr you amazing knowlege. I actually came across the garden pooch when I was searching how to help our beautiful baby Tiara, a miniature pinscherwhen she was diagnosed with cushings and diabetes in Nov. 2022. Sadly she crossed over the rainbow bridge on 20th Jan this year at 14 years and 9 months. It has been so hard and still very difficult. We were in for another shock a week later 27th Jan when we found out that mu husband had renal carcinoma, a huge mass covering his entire kidney. He had the kidney removed and we are so, so blessed that the cancer did not spread to any other organs. And last week went for a follow-up scan and he is cancer-free. I am reading on how to prevent cancer and especaiilly for it not recurring and for both my son and daughter, and so happy to follow your advice. Thank ypu, so, so much,
