This mixture involves three powerful spices and has many health benefits - it is one of the most revered ancient remedies in Ayurveda for digestion, immunity and detoxification. This has to be one of the best and perhaps the most potent Ayurvedic combinations when it comes to healing the body with the use of seeds. This combination is super famous and very powerful - give it a try if you are having health issues and you will be amazed.
Ingredients of This Combination - The ingredients of this combination are only three types of seeds - 1. Bitter Cumin* (kali jeeri or kadvi jiri or kalijiri) 2. Carom seeds or Bishop's Weed (ajwain) 3. Fenugreek (methi) Note* - Plz. do not get confused when buying Kali Jeeri - I have even seen Indians getting confused over this. Kali Jeeri is Bitter Cumin (it is NOT black cumin seeds (kalongi)) or Shahi jeera or even kala jeera (regular cumin seeds). Benefits - -helps with weight loss since it helps boost metabolism & burns excess fat -helps digestion, diabetes (helps with insulin secretion) and in lowering cholesterol -helps relieve aches and pains, esp. joint pains -cleanses and purifies the blood (blood purifier) and thus, beautifies the skin from inside out -excellent for hair health as it stops hair fall and promotes thick rich hair -is excellent for digestion and promotes healthy bowel movements -this mixture increases the digestive fire (agni) -boosts immunity and can help with colds, toothache due to ajwain in this recipe -due to kalijiri in the recipe, it may help with urinary tract infections, asthma and cough Ratio - This combination must be done in a certain ratio - you cannot do it as you please or make equal parts of it. No. Have some respect for the original (and the ancient) Ayurvedic remedy and make it exactly as advised for it to be effective. One part Bitter Cumin seeds (kali jeeri) + two parts Carom seeds (ajwain) + five parts Fenugreek (methi). Few examples of the ratio... For Western readers - So for example, if you use 10 oz. of bitter cumin seeds, you will use 20 oz. of carom seeds and 50 oz. fenugreek seeds. For Indians readers - If you use 50 grams of bitter cumin seeds, you will use 100 grams of carom seeds and 250 grams of fenugreek seeds. How To Make - Roast each of the ingredients for a few minutes each, grind the mixture into a fine powder and then store in an airtight jar. How Much & When To Take - You can start with one teaspoon of this powder with warm water a few hours before bed or you can start with just 1/2 teaspoon with your meals. This will prevent blood sugar spikes after meals. Take this mixture for 40 days and then stop for 10 days or more before resuming again to maintain its effectiveness. Who Should NOT Take This Mixture - -Pregnant women or those who are breastfeeding should NOT take this mixture -If you have any health condition, please first consult with your Ayurvedic doctor before taking this mixture -Somyata Ref.
